OVERVIEW

About Wisdom Tooth Extraction

At Radix Cosmo Dental, wisdom tooth extractions — including complex surgical cases — are handled by Dr. Mohit Mangla (BDS, MDS Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery). Advanced imaging ensures precise planning and the procedure is performed under local anaesthesia for a comfortable experience.

THE PROCESS

Step-by-Step

  1. 01
    X-Ray Assessment

Panoramic or digital X-ray maps the exact position of the wisdom tooth and nearby nerves.

  2. 02
    Treatment Planning

Simple or surgical extraction is planned based on tooth position and depth of impaction.

  3. 03
    Anaesthesia

Local anaesthesia fully numbs the area. Sedation is available for anxious patients.

  4. 04
    Extraction

Tooth is carefully removed. Stitches may be placed for surgical cases.

  5. 05
    Recovery Care

Written aftercare instructions are provided; follow-up scheduled to check healing.

FAQ

Wisdom Tooth Extraction — Common Questions

No. Wisdom teeth that are fully erupted, healthy, and causing no problems may not need removal. Dr. Shruti will assess your X-rays and advise whether extraction is necessary.

The procedure itself is performed under local anaesthesia and should not be painful. Post-operative soreness is manageable with standard pain relief for 2–4 days.

Most patients return to normal activities within 3–5 days. Complete healing of the socket takes 4–6 weeks, but discomfort resolves much sooner.

Soft foods like yoghurt, dal, soups, and mashed foods for the first 3–4 days. Avoid hard, crunchy, or very hot foods and do not use a straw (suction can dislodge the blood clot).
